James Bishop-Edwards and Heather Holmquest present Schubert’s lieder for guitar and soprano. This program is based on the work of musicologist Dr. Thomas Heck, a leader in bringing attention to repertoire for soprano and guitar, and celebrates the way affective meanings of texts are enhanced by the subtleties of Classical guitar techniques. Our concert will conclude with Schubert’s ‘Arpeggione’ sonata, played on guitar with fortepiano.Songs and solos with soprano Heather Holmqvist and keyboardist Margaret Gries.
