James will be playing Baroque Guitar as part of the Jefferson Baroque Orchestra Jubilate Deo, a spectacular array of Venetian music calling for cornetto, sacbuts, trumpets, strings and their largest chorus ever!

They open with Gabrieli’s “Jubilate Deo” for double choir, strings and brass and conclude with Schütz’ setting of the same text. Between these two monumental pieces, you’ll hear extraordinary music for chorus with instrumental ensembles, featuring soloists Gil Cline (cornetto) and Bodie Pfost (sacbut). Large-scale music by Monteverdi, Praetorius and Schütz brings the glorious ‘surround sound’ of the Venetian choral tradition to Southern Oregon audiences.
