This will be the sixth chamber recital featuring faculty members performing masterworks of chamber music — both beloved gems and lesser-known works.

The concert will open with flutist Suzanne Duffy and pianist Susan Azaret Davies performing Fauré’s “Fantasie” and Lowell Liebermann’s Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 23.

Mezzo-soprano Jacalyn Kreitzer, pianist Davies and percussionist John Astaire will perform “Field of the Dead,” a movement from Prokofiev’s cantata “Alexander Nevsky,” while the original 1938 Sergei Eisenstein film is projected on screen.

Duffy and guest guitarist James Bishop-Edwards will perform movements from Astor Piazzolla’s “L’histoire du tango.”

Astaire and guest vocalist and Cal Poly music alumna Inga Swearingen will close the concert with a selection of songs.
