From the Cambridge Consort Books (1588)

Citterns and bandoras are not the most often heard instruments in our showcase concerts, but this season we have them! Together with lutes, violin, recorder and bass viol, you’ll hear traditional ballads and dances set for this lively combination of early music instruments. With music from the Cambridge Consort Books compiled by Matthew Holmes in 1588, this concert features the talents of James Bishop-Edwards (lute, cittern), David Rogers (lute, cittern), Steve Berman (bandora), Roma Sprung (gamba), Aaron Moffat (violin) and Pat O’Scannell (recorder).
